Your everyday jewellery is a part of you. It’s never in the way, never too much. Always right. And you wear it right next to your skin. What does your skin think about the jewellery you wear?

Skin is the body’s defence against danger. And it should last for a long time. You nurture it tenderly with creams and treatments, and wash your clothes in a mild laundry detergent.

But your skin can still take a beating sometimes. For example, you can develop a nickel allergy if you wear jewellery that contains nickel. An allergy that stays with you for life. But jewellery can contain many other harmful substances as well.* A safe way of choosing skin friendly jewellery is to choose Blomdahl.

* Nickel allergy is the most common contact allergy, but jewellery can contain many other allergenic substances, such as cobalt, gold, epoxy and acrylates. They can even contain toxic, carcinogenic or other inappropriate substances such as lead, cadmium, formaldehyde, phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA).

Blomdahl is jewellery developed in consultation with skin specialists. Earrings that are proven to be skin friendly. Many allergic people who have tried our jewellery testify that they can wear earrings for the first time, in a long time, without any problems. For earrings and nose jewellery, choose from carefully selected titanium and plastic, of pure medical quality. The coating is only applied to the parts of the earrings or nose jewellery that don’t come into close contact with your skin.

Blomdahl’s rings are lightweight and designed with comfortable, rounded inner surfaces. They are made from carefully selected titanium of medical quality. You can choose between natural titanium and golden titanium. The gold coloured, skin friendly coating is only applied to the outside of the ring, which doesn’t come into close contact with your skin. The inside, which is constantly in contact with your skin, is always made from medical titanium.

Bracelets and necklaces from Blomdahl have a beautiful and skin friendly gold or silver coloured coating.
As chains and pendants do not sit as close to the skin as rings, earrings and nose jewellery do, they can be completely covered with our skin friendly coating. To protect your skin and your health, Blomdahl uses a coating that has been developed in consultation with skin specialists.

As parents, we obviously want to protect our children from being exposed to unsuitable materials and substances. This is particularly important when they wear jewellery close to their skin for a long period. Blomdahl is therefore recommended for children and adults who want to be able to wear jewellery every day, without it posing a health risk.

Just had your ears pierced? Remember that it takes up to a whole year before the piercings are totally healed. If you use earrings with earring backs, these should not be pressed tightly against the back of the ear.

MAKE ALL YOUR EARRINGS SKIN FRIENDLY

That’s why we have developed special Blomdahl products that make all your drop earrings skin friendly in a few simple steps. Remove the studs, rings or hooks and replace with ours, made from skin friendly medical titanium.

• Handle your skin friendly jewellery with care and it will stay beautiful for longer. When you don't use it, keep the jewellery in the Clean Pack or in your jewellery box.
• Remove your jewellery when showering. Avoid exposing your jewellery to makeup, hair care products, alcohol and other chemicals.
• Remove your rings when you, for example, work out or do house and garden work, etc.
• In order for your jewellery to retain its lustre, clean it with uncoloured soap regularly. For earrings made out of medical plastic, this also means that the earring backs will be more secure.
• Earrings made out of medical plastic are usually quite resistant, yet the posts, hooks and pendants are soft and need to be handled carefully.
• In order to make the titanium earring backs tighter and therefore more secure, press the loops of the earring back slightly together before use.

HYGIENIC PACKAGING

You’re the first person to come into contact with your new jewellery from Blomdahl. Earrings and nose jewellery come delivered in a Clean Pack, which stores the jewellery hygienically until you open it. The label acts as a seal.

Blomdahl is designed and made in Sweden, which means we have full control over the entire process. From the suppliers, via our own production and assembly and packaging of the finished jewellery, to the delivery to the store or salon. We check and record everything so that we can guarantee the jewellery is kind to your skin.
